My training
My original vocal training was in the technicalities and elegance of classical music (ABRSM, Grade 5 - Distinction), until I fell in love with musical theatre's emotive storytelling and changed musical disciplines (LCM, Grade 8 - Distinction).
Whilst studying at Durham university, I branched out into performing in the jazz, gospel, pop and ballads genres, embracing the exciting challenge of new styles.
It means that I am as comfortable singing Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole, as I am Beyonce and Taylor Swift - though Disney and ABBA are particular favourites of mine! It also means my personal performing style combines heart-felt, emotional expression with a pure, soaring vocal tone!
